Deb & Erika

Quick update since it’s been a while since my last post, and since I’ve got some new photographying to show. This picture is from Deb’s going away party last weekend on Saturday. The party was super fun and it was good to get all the people together to see Deb off all proper like. The rest of the snapshots I took from the party are in this flickr set (there’s even one of me in there).

The week between the party and Friday at 3:30 was fairly pedestrian and boring. Friday evening on the other hand was pretty exciting, the gang got together for another smashening. This image i think is my favorite:

The rest of my results from the night are in this set. The team is getting much better at consistency with our smashenings, we now just need to work on not taking 4.5 hours to setup to start taking pictures.

Last night and today are events for my cousin’s wedding. The wedding last night was super fun seeing all the relatives and hanging out. Today should be really good as well for the gift opening at my parents, I’ll try to get my pictures from the wedding posted soon as well.

Grilled Asparagus Portabella Cous Cous

Ingredients:

  • 6-8 Asparagus Spears
  • 1 Medium Portabella Mushroom
  • 1.5 Cups Cous Cous
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 1.5 tsp Salt
  • Olive Oil
  • Juice of Half a Lemon

    Instructions:
    1) Combine water and salt, and bring to a boil in a small pot.
    2) Turn your grill (BBQ) onto high, and let it preheat for 5 minutes
    3) Place the cous cous in a bowl and pour the boiling water over the cous cous and cover the bowl with Saran wrap. Let stand for 10-15 minutes
    4) Coat asparagus and portabella with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.
    5) Place the asparagus and portabella on the grill until soft but not mushy. About 5-7 minutes.
    6) Cut the asparagus spears into 1″ pieces.
    7) Cut the portabella into 1″ squares.
    8) Fluff the cous cous with a fork to seperate the grains.
    9) Mix the cut up asparagus and portabella in with the cous cous.
    10) Squeeze the juice of the lemon over the cous cous, and dress with 1-2 tbs of olive oil.
    11) Spoon out onto plates, while warm and dress with a bit more oilive oil
    12) Enjoy your tasty treat.

Ok well that’s my first attempt at passing on some of my culinary ideas. Any comments are more then welcome.

Today I got the reward for my latest slaking of my eBay addiction thirst a new flash for my camera. It’s a Canon 430EX, I played with it a bit this evening when I got home from work. It gives much better results then my old flash, these three images of rocky are from the new flash the ones in this post are from my old cheapo flash. I think these look better :) .
