Wow how long has it been since I made an update…..wow a really long time. It’s been so long since I haven’t really done anything photographic to post a picture of. And my life really isn’t that exciting to just post general stuff about what’s going on. Well since this is a general update here’s an overview of what’s happened to me since then.
Life is settling into a routine with my new roommate, overall he’s good. Not too loud (except when other dogs walk by, but even that’s calming down). Not too demanding about the fact that I’m using up most of the space in the house (which I think a human roommate might mind). His hair being all over the house is kind of annoying but other then that I’m super glad that I have him as a companion. Our training classes have been going really well and he’s getting much better around all the other dogs, and he is learning some things. Last week I bought some rope from MEC to make a long line for him so we can try to get him some off leash training.
Work is going really well, I had my 6 month review a couple weeks ago which went really well. My boss let me know that they’re happy with the work I’ve been doing, which is always nice to hear. And she gave me a bit of a salary increase which was totally unexpected but welcome. The side works have been going well; GPS tracking stuff has finally gotten some customers and hopefully should be bringing in some income soon which will be nice for toy funds. Contracting to the old grind is also going well which should hopefully also help with getting my next couple of toys (1,2) that I’m looking to get. The photography business is finally starting to get moving, we’ve finally gotten all our paperwork filled out and submitted so if anyone is looking for a wedding or portrait photographer drop us a line. And we can probably work out a deal, and get you what you’re looking for and we can get some experience.
Other then that not alot has been going on, I did get out to The Stampede this year for the first time in 4 or 5 years. Usually I’m militantly against going to the stampede to avoid the crowds, but this year it was a really good time. Just strolled around the grounds and being that it was raining for the whole day before we went the grounds were actually fairly calm so it was nice.
Last weekend Oakey and I went and saw Clerks II which I would highly recommend to any Kevin Smith/Jersey Shore series fans, or pretty much anyone who has a dirty/vulgar sense of humour.
Now after that long winded oration (or would it be narration since it’s typed who knows not really my specialty). The more recent things, this weekend was really nice. Friday night Jason and I hung out and went and saw Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. It was pretty decent, not as good as the first one but worth the 10 bucks. My only complaint is it felt like it was really only half a movie and it needs the last of the trilogy to finish it off correctly. Saturday was a day of errand running: got my haircut, picked up network card, went to My Mac Dealer for a test fit of a Macbook Pro in my laptop/camera backpack. In the afternoon Jason and I headed down to Foothills Stadium to checkout a Calgary Vipers game. The game itself was pretty decent for minor league ball, I took the picture posted waaaay at the top of this post and about 200 others. I’ll hopefully get around to post processing the rest of the images this week and get them posted. Once I do I’ll add the link to this post.
I’ve been doing some candy making in the last few weeks, I made peanut brittle the same week as stampede which turned out totally awesome anyone who would like the recipe let me know and I’ll send it to you. This weekend I made chocolate fudge which didn’t turn out 100% but it’s pretty damn good for a first try. I think for the next little while my weekend baking experiments may transform into weekend candy making experiments hopefully to the delight of my co-workers who tend to be the ones who benefit from these experiments.
As an aside I’ve also been considering getting into starting to train for my pilots license, I’m going to setup an appointment at the Calgary Flying Club for their Discovery Flight to see if I’m actually interested in persueing it cause it’ll end up being about a 10K investment to get my license but I think I might really enjoy it.
Ok that’s the longest thing I’ve typed on the blog ever I believe so I’m thinking I’ll stop now. Ok that sentance used “I” 4 times that’s gotta be some time of record
