Barn Owl 3

This post is a little late but I suppose better late then never.

The long weekend started out really good Friday morning I went off to the Calgary Zoo to take some pictures for the May CPS theme of Eyes. The picture is one I really like alot for eyes, this little Barn Owl has the coolest look on his face. Jeff, Anji and the kids were supposed to come along but due to scheduling problems and the crowds that showed up later in the day they didn’t make it in. The rest of the images from the trip are in this flickr set(Kristy you might one to check out this one and the few after it).
Friday afternoon was a bit of side work, and then dinner at El Sombrero on 17th Ave with Ryan. In the evening I hung out with Jason and watched some TV.

Saturday morning, Jeff and I went out to Kanaskis to take more photogs. I’ve yet to process them so they’ll be posted in a couple of days, hopefully on the weekend at the latest. In the afternoon I met up with Erika at Chinook to use my Christmas present from her. I ended up getting Creme Brule Torch, which is entirely too cool. When I took it out, I needed to put it away almost immediately or I would have burnt my house down. The evening was taken up by the Roughnecks last game of the regular season, Mari came along to experience her first game. It wasn’t a very good game to be the first, we got absolutely kill 17-7 by Colorado. Which basically kills our chances of having a home playoff game.

Sunday morning I made some oatmeal raison cookies for work on Monday. The evening was taken up by an amazing dinner compliments of my grandmother.

The beginning of this week at work has been going really good. But it’s still nice that it’s Thursday evening and tomorrow is the start of the weekend.

It’s been quite a while since I posted anything since I haven’t had much interesting going on lately.

Friday night after work we had a bowling party to celebrate the end of a great first quarter. The bowling event was super fun, when working at telvent I didn’t have alot of motivation to goto work events. But now that I’m at Replicon I figure I should make the effort to be involved, after bowling instead of having to take the train home I got a lift back to my car at the c-train station. When I got to my car I reached into my pocket and releaized that my money clip with all my CC’s, debit card, drivers license, prox card, and bus pass. So instead of a relaxing Friday night at home, I got to rush around to everywhere I’d been after work to try to see if it had been turned in unfortunately it hadn’t been. I phoned around to the guys I’d gotten rides with, one of them I got ahold of and he didn’t have it. The other I still haven’t heard back from so hopefully he has it so I can get my bus pass back. But since I wasn’t able to know for sure I got to spend Friday night cancelling all my cards.

Saturday morning I went and got a haircut, then hit the registries to get a replacement drivers license ordered. After that it was a trip to the bank to get a new bank card so I would again have the ability to pay for required items. The afternoon I spent futzing around the house, in the evening I headed out to the Roughnecks game, which we won taking over first in our division which was cool. I then swung by The Unicorn for Mike L birthday celebration. Which for some of us ended up at Kristy and Colin’s where we played Chronnaughts which is a totally fun time travel based card game.

Today I’m making some sun dried tomatoe bread and cleaning the house.
