I’m still loving going to work every morning, I’ve been working on more archetectural things in the last couple of weeks that are super interesting.
Now onto the photos, this past Sunday Wes,Jeff, Kyle and I took an outing to Crowsnest Pass to the Leitch Collieries. It’s an abandonded coal mine, near Frank Slide. We decided to head down there because the CPS theme for April is ruins. We figured that the collieries would make for some decent (or hopefully more then decent) ruins shots. I’ve attached one of my shots, I’ve played with it quite a bit in photoshop to make something out of the flat looking shot that came out of my camera. It was snowing pretty hard and quite overcast so the light wasn’t very good, which made the post processing pretty tough. I think it turned out fairly good over all, the rest of the pictures I processed enough make decent are in this set: Leitch Collieries Set.
I’ve posted a couple different edits of a few of the shots. If anyone has any preference please leave me a comment cause I’m trying to decide which shot I should take for the meeting.
On the way back from crowsnest we also stopped at “The Big Rock” just outside of Okotoks. I’d never been there in person before, it’s really amazing to think that a rock that huge ended up in the middle of the plains hundreds of miles away from the mountains. I posted a panoramic that I made of the rock in three versions (color, sepia, black & white). I think I like the sepia the best personally, but the black and white is nice as well.
