Paris-Las Vegas

Part 2 of yesterdays post, the morning after my Thai class I got up super early for our morning flight to Las Vegas through Vancouver. The first part of the flight to Vancouver was good cause we had the WestJet personal TV. It’s pretty cool that they provide for free everyone with their own little TV to watch instead of sticking everyone with whatever crappy movie they decide to show. We had a short layover in Vancouver which gave us all time to grab something to eat before boarding the flight to Sin City.
When we arrived in Vegas it was a little windy but with the desert sun out strong it was actually quite warm. After getting everyone’s bags together we hopped some cabs to our hotel Imperial Palace (which by the way is pretty much a dive as far as stirp hotels go, but it does have a good location and it’s cheap). After dropping off the bags Trev and I went and had some lunch at one of the infamous vegas Buffet’s, then we walked arround the strip for a while and checked out Harrahs, The Venetian, and Treasure Island. Everyon (all 12 of us) spent the first evening gambling, I played Blackjack and Texas Hold’em ending up $20 at the end of the night. The next day after sleeping in a bit, we spent the day walking around ending up drinking on the patio at Paris (which has the replica of the Eiffel Tour pictured above) people watching. After sitting for a while me and T took the long trek to the Rio to buy tickets for Penn & Teller. For the rest of the afternoon we walked around the mall at Ceasers (which is approximately the size of Market Mall if you take out the Bay, Toys R Us, and Zellers). In the evening the whole group went to a steak house at the Venetian for dinner. The Penn and Teller show after dinner was really cool, if you’re even in Vegas I suggest going to see it. Saturday was another day of walking around, I gambled some more and lost 80 bucks for a net total of being down 60. By Sunday we were all pretty much sick of the whole Vegas experience, but I did have a chance to toss 20 bucks in a slot machine and win back my 60 bucks I went down the night before.
I didn’t really take all that many pictures since I was more concerned with having a good time. Plus being a bit drunk most of the time I didn’t really want to be carying my expensive camera around where I may forget it. But the rest of my posted Vegas pictures are in this set.

Alright, let’s cut to the chase. What did you REALLY do in Vegas?
–Ah, Banana.
I know what you mean about being ‘sick of the whole Vegas experience’. It really is a place made for only long weekends.
